Apple-Mint Iced Tea
It’s been scorchy hot these past few days, so I’ve been drinking a lot of refreshing drinks.
Together with my Mint and Ginger Iced Green Tea this Apple-Mint Iced Tea has been at the top of my list.
Green tea tartness goes really well with the pungent and refreshing mint aroma and is perfectly counterbalanced by the apple juice sweetness.
Super simple to make, all-natural, good-for-you, and oh-so-yummy.
This is the perfect drink to sip after a long day at the beach, and a great cooler for summer parties and barbecues.
It’s thirst-quenching and packs a flavor punch. Plus you can easily make it more grown-up for the adults attending your party/barbecue — if you’re so inclined.
This Apple-Mint Iced Tea can be made the day before and stored in the fridge until ready to serve. I actually recommend to double (or even triple) the recipe and store it.
Just make sure you have plenty of ice on hand because it’s definitely best served cold.
What better way to quench your thirst this summer than with a glass of fresh, natural, refreshing Apple-Mint Iced Tea?

A couple of notes. Adding a little lemon juice prevents your tea from going brown, while the baking soda gives the tea a smoother taste.
Ingredients
Makes 5 pints (about 12 servings)
4 green tea bags
2 sprigs fresh mint
8 cups boiling water
½ cup sugar (or other sweetener of choice, I used coconut sugar)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Pinch of baking soda
2 cups apple juice
Directions
Place tea bags and mint in a large heatproof bowl (or pitcher). Pour boiling water over it, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes.
Remove tea bags and mint. Add sugar, baking soda, and lemon juice and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved. Let cool at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Stir in apple juice, transfer to a pitcher, and let cool completely before refrigerating.
When ready to serve, add a couple of mint leaves and ice cubes in each glass. Pour iced tea over and serve!
