Blueberry Crisp ... dee-lish
Enjoy the flavors of fresh blueberry pie without the fuss of a crust ... make easy-as-can-be Blueberry Crisp instead!
I may just have a new favorite fruit dessert.
I don't know why I didn't think of this before. Apple crisp? ... Make it all the time. Pear crisp? ... Yes, with walnuts. It's divine! But blueberry crisp? Took me forever to think of it.
And now that I've tried it, I'm hooked.
No pie crust to roll out and crimp just perfectly. Nope. Simply sprinkle a little brown-sugar-and-oats topping on the blueberry filling instead. Easy as can be.
I think I even like blueberry crisp better than blueberry pie. Which is saying a lot. Because blueberry pie is one of my all-time favorite desserts!
And another plus for this recipe? - it's so quick and easy.

I was so sure the blueberry crisp with wine would be better, but this was one time that adding wine was not a plus. In my side-by-side taste comparison, the without-wine version won hands-down. Not even a contest.
I then had my husband Mark do a blind testing ... same result - the "not wine" blueberry crisp won. No question.
I was so sure the blueberry crisp with wine would be better, but this was one time that adding wine was not a plus.
And I thought wine with the blueberries would be so good. Perhaps a different kind of wine ... or perhaps red wine and blueberries in a different type of blueberry dessert would be good. I may have to keep tinkering.
Until I tinker my way to a new blueberry-wine creation, I'll enjoy this non-wine blueberry crisp!
I love that this tasty crisp is super easy to make. First just mix up a simple blueberry filling fresh blueberries combined with a little sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and spices.
Then toss together a simple oats and brown sugar topping and sprinkle it evenly over the blueberry mixture.
Enjoy a big scoop with a dollop of whipped cream ... or not. Believe me, this easy as can be crisp is dee-lish either way!
Thank you for stopping by . We'd love to have you back soon!
