Kale Chips 5 Ways
I was at a Christmas dinner party the other night and they served kale chips.
I thought that everyone in the whole wide world knew about kale chips, so I was a bit surprised when people started saying things like “Uh, what is this green stuff?” “Is that seaweed?” “That’s good, what is this?”
I mean, how long has the “kale chips craze” been going on? Three years, maybe even more.
Everyone has blogged, tweeted, facebooked, and even instagrammed about kale chips.
Is it possible that someone has not heard about ‘em yet?
Apparently...
Soooo for all those of you that haven’t tried kale chips yet (and btw who are ya?), or for those who have yet not tried making them at home, here is not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 but 5 recipes to make kale chips at home.

Sea Salt Kale Chips Print this recipe!
Ingredients
1 bunch kale leaves, washed and dried
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon fine grain sea salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C) and place a rack in the middle. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Remove the ribs from the kale and tear into 1 ½-inch pieces.
Combine olive oil and salt in a large bowl. Add kale leaves and toss to coat.
Lay on the lined baking sheets.
Bake until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Smoked Paprika and Chili Kale Chips Print this recipe!
Ingredients
1 bunch kale leaves, washed and dried
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon fine grain sea salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C) and place a rack in the middle. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Remove the ribs from the kale and tear into 1 ½-inch pieces.
Combine olive oil, paprika and chilli in a large bowl. Add kale leaves and toss to coat.
Lay on the lined baking sheets.
Bake until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Parmesan Pepper Kale Chips Print this recipe!
Ingredients
1 bunch kale leaves, washed and dried
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon fine grain sea salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C) and place a rack in the middle. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Remove the ribs from the kale and tear into 1 ½-inch pieces.
In a large bowl, toss kale leaves and olive oil, until they are well coated. Add grated Parmesan cheese, pepper and salt and toss to combine.
Lay on the lined baking sheets.
Bake until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips Print this recipe!
Ingredients
1 bunch kale leaves, washed and dried
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon fine grain sea salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C) and place a rack in the middle. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Remove the ribs from the kale and tear into 1 ½-inch pieces.
Place into a bowl and drizzle with white vinegar.
Toss kale to get the leaves coated in vinegar.
Place the kale in a single layer on the lined baking sheets.
Let the vinegar air dry onto the kale.
Place the kale back into the bowl and toss with olive oil just until the leaves are lightly coated.
Lay on the lined baking sheets.
Bake until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Soy and Sesame Kale Chips Print this recipe!
Ingredients
1 bunch kale leaves, washed and dried
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon wheat-free soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Directions
Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C) and place a rack in the middle. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Remove the ribs from the kale and tear into 1 ½-inch pieces.
Combine olive oil, soy sauce and sesame seeds. Add kale leaves and toss to coat.
Lay on the lined baking sheets.
Bake until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through, about 15 to 20 minutes.
