There's nothing I love more about the holidays than figuring out what I want to make and bake to serve the ones I love ... whether it be for a small gathering with my family, a large holiday party, cookie exchange, church potluck, or a treat to contribute to a friend's get-together. Making something tasty to share is part of the fun of the holidays!
One of my favorite go-to treats to make? Magic bars. Because they come together quickly, are easy to make, and most importantly, everyone loves them.
But this holiday season, I wanted to take my magic bars up a notch and pack in a flavor combination just perfect for celebrating the season. Enter ... Mixed Nuts & Cranberry Magic Bars, loaded with salty mixed nuts, white and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and dried cranberries.
And I must say, the flavor combination is indeed worthy of the holidays!
Taking magic bars up a notch with deluxe mixed nuts and cranberries truly couldn't be easier. Simply layer "traditional" magic bar ingredients ... a graham cracker crust, shredded coconut, and chocolate chips ... in a baking dish, adding dried cranberries to the mix.
Drizzle on sweetened condensed milk, and top with a layer of Deluxe Mixed Nuts. {Cashews taste great, too, if you prefer!}
Bake until bubbly, cool completely, and then get ready to dive into the nutty-deliciousness.
So whether you're preparing for a family get-together or a large-scale holiday party, making something fun and tasty to share is easy with these Mixed Nuts & Cranberry Magic Bars. They're a version of an always-a-favorite treat that's simply perfect for celebrating the holiday season!
Mixed Nuts & Cranberry Magic Bars
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. shredded coconut
- 3/4 c. white chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. sweetened dried cranberries
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/4 c. Deluxe Mixed Nuts {or Cashews}
Directions
- Mix together butter, graham cracker crumbs, flour, and baking powder until it resembles small crumbs or sand. Press into a greased 9x13" baking dish.
- Layer on ingredients in the order listed: coconut, white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, cranberries. Drizzle condensed milk evenly over the top. Add mixed nuts and gently press nuts down slightly with your hand into condensed milk layer.
- Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 - 35 minutes until bubbly around the edges and beginning to bubble in the center. Let cool completely in the baking dish. Cut into 24 small squares.
Makes 24 servings.
