Turkey Burger with Dressing & Cranberry Sauce {aka: Thanksgiving Burger}
It's your favorite holiday flavors in a burger! Yes, with this Turkey Burger with Dressing & Cranberry Sauce {aka: a Thanksgiving Burger}, you can enjoy your favorite holiday flavors in one juicy and delicious burger. And oh my, is it good.
I'm a huge fan of burgers. And I'm a huge fan of holiday flavors ... especially stuffing {or dressing}. So I figured, why not combine these loves?
And I'm oh so glad I did. Because this Turkey Burger with Dressing & Cranberry Sauce is ah-MAZ-ing.
These burgers are pretty quick and easy to whip up if you've got some leftover stuffing on hand.
Which was good for me yesterday. Because I had just gotten home from a trip and needed something pretty quick and easy to whip up for dinner.
We had so much fun traveling to Andalusia, Alabama to spend time with this fabulous lady at her home ...
We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner with Sister Schubert in her kitchen, complete with making her famous Parker House Style rolls from scratch.
We stayed at the Hickory Ridge Lodge, a really cool rustic antique-furnished lodge we had all to ourselves. You had to walk across a pond on a wooden bridge to get to the lodge, and I was always afraid I was going to trip and fall in the pond. Because, you know ... my Mom doesn't call me Miss Grace for nothing. Nope. I get that name for my complete and utter lack of it.
I made the other bloggers swear that if I did trip and fall in the pond, there would be absolutely no pictures!!! Thankfully, I crossed safely each time. {Even in the dark with a little flashlight.}
We got a little goofy with the lodge's antler collection ... Think we could get jobs as Santa's new reindeer??
Stay tuned for a more detailed post about our visit with Sister Schubert! I'll be sharing a whole lot more later this week, and can't wait to tell you all about it. It was so much fun! And Sister is such a wonderfully kind lady.
Until then, I think I'll be dreaming of a big fat Thanksgiving Burger, complete with my favorite slow cooker dressing & homemade Grand Marnier cranberry sauce. I'm definitely looking forward to the next time I make these. Hmmmm ... probably with those yummy Thanksgiving leftovers that'll be around later this week!

prep time: 20 Mcook time: 15 Mtotal time: 35 M
ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. dried sage
- 2 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary {or 3/4 tsp. dried}
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- 4 pieces dressing or stuffing
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 T. whole berry cranberry sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- butter {optional}
- olive oil
instructions:
How to cook Thanksgiving Burger
- Place ground turkey, egg, bread crumbs, onion, sage, rosemary, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix until well combined. Divide mixture into 4 equal pieces and shape into burger patties.
- Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil in a saute pan over medium heat. Add burger patties and cook until burgers are cooked through, approximately 12 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally. {If the burgers are getting too browned on the bottom before they're cooked through, I pour about 1/4 cup of hot water in the pan and continue cooking.}
- With the burgers still in the pan, place a piece of dressing on top of each burger and top with a slice of provolone. Heat until cheese is melted, covering the pan if needed.
- Place burgers on buttered {optional} buns and top each burger with about a tablespoon of cranberry sauce.
TRACEY'S NOTES
- If you don't have leftover dressing on hand, you can whip some up. Combine herb-seasoned stuffing mix {I use Pepperidge Farm}, sauteed onion and celery, and chicken broth enough broth to make the mixture moist and stick together in clumps when squeezed in your hand. Add a touch of salt and pepper. Place mixture in a baking dish coated with non-stick cooking spray and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes.
