Orange-Green Tea Punch Recipe
Green tea and fresh orange juice beautifully combine to create one very tasty tea-based punch! This Orange-Green Tea Punch recipe is a keeper, for sure.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! Little Miss H. {who's in kindergarten} is soooo excited about going to school today. I mean, she's excited everyday ... but she's especially excited today. Because she's heard stories. Stories about little green leprechauns showing up in classrooms and creating mischief and messes.
And she soooo wants a little leprechaun to visit her classroom and make a mess! She's seriously talked about it for days. I wonder what stories I'll be in store for when I pick her up this afternoon! And if a little leprechaun does visit her classroom and make a mess? ... I certainly hope she'll be a sweetie and help clean it up.
So while I don't have a special little leprechaun treat, or rockin' shamrock-shaped cookies, or even a gorgeous green dessert to share with you today in honor of St. Patrick's Day ... I do have this Orange-Green Tea Punch recipe to share. Is that close enough to being appropriate for the day??
I mean ... it does have green in it ... and then orange like a leprechaun's beard, right?
I know, it's a stretch. A huge stretch. But let's go with it, okay?
Little Miss H. and I created this Orange-Green Tea Punch recipe a few weeks back when we were hosting a fun little tea party. We enjoyed sipping on it and the Strawberry Tea Punch I shared right after the party. And enjoyed nibbling on Pound Cake Cookies, Strawberry Cheesecake Strawberry Bites, Spinach Balls ... and other little bites.
We decided this Orange-Green Tea Punch recipe was definitely a keeper. We loved it made with Lipton's Orange Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea, but you could make it with strong-brewed regular green tea, too.
Now, my only question about this punch that remains ... Do you think the leprechauns would like it? {Hmmm, I'm thinking they would!}
Ingredients
- 8 c. boiling water
- 6 tea bags of Lipton Orange Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea {or regular green tea, if you can't find the Orange Passionfruit Jasmine}
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1/2 c. freshly-squeezed orange juice
- 1 c. ginger ale
- orange slices for garnish!
- Pour boiling water over tea bags and steep for 10 minutes; remove and squeeze out tea bags. Stir in honey until dissolved. Chill until cooled.
- In a punch bowl or large container, combine orange juice and chilled tea. Stir until well combined.
- Just before serving, add ginger ale and orange slices.
Enjoy!
